桃之產期調節

摘　　要

　　本 省 中 低 海 拔 地 區 之 鶯 歌 桃 ， 四 月 桃 等 品 種 ， 正 常 產 期 在 6 月 間 ， 但 售 價 低 ， 果 農 收 益 少 ， 若 在 9～10 月 間 行 人 工 除 葉 ， 可 在 10～11 月 間 開 花 ， 翌 年 2～3 月 間 收 穫 。

　　雖 然 如 此 調 節 後 ， 有 落 果 嚴 重 ， 產 量 偏 低 ， 具 苦 味 等 現 象 ， 但 是 果 實 不 小 ， 色 澤 美 麗 ， 並 具 有 桃 之 特 殊 香 氣 ， 如 加 以 改 善 其 缺 點 的 話 ， 必 能 有 效 地 應 用 於 產 期 調 節 之 目 的 。

The Regulation of Harvest Time of Peach (pyrus persica sieb. et zucc.) in Taiwan

Summary

　　When grown at low altitude (300-500 m in central Taiwan), the normal harvest time of hard peaches (such as var. Engo and var. June) is from June to July. Artificial defoliage (Pentachlorophenol) in September to October induced the peach tree to bloom in October to November, and the fruits to mature in next February to March.

　　The fruit quality of these peaches was only partly good. The fruit size was satisfactory. They had a good skin color and a special fragrance, but unfortunately they were slightly bitter. Another drawback was the serious fruit dropping, which led to low yields.

　　Further experiments are necessary for developing the new culture techniques or regulating the harvest time of hard peach in Taiwan.
