The objective of this experiment was to prolong vase life of Statice by postharvest and transport in the container with water. The experiment comprise three parts. Which part one were the comparison of water uptake immediately, delay two hours and delay four hours after harvest of cut flower. The result indicated that water uptake immediately treatment had weighter, high open floret percent, low wilting floret percent of cut flower. Part two was the comparison of wet transport in the container with water and dry transport in the carton. The result indicated that wet transport treatment had weighter, high open floret percent, low wilting percent of cut flower. Part three was the comparison of different pre-treatment solution. Cut flower were put in solution to be tested 24h, and thereafter in water. The result indicated that 10% sucrose + 200 ppm 8-HQS had weighter, open floret percent, low wilted floret percent of cut flower.If we harvest cut flower of Statice, immediate put in water, then by wet transport in the container with water and plus10% sucrose + 200 ppm 8-HQS, we can prolong vase life and increasing ornamental value of Statice.
