水稻高產品種之選育特別論及台中秈17號

摘　　要

　　台 中 秈 17 號 係 以 台 中 秈 育 223 號 (♀) 與 IR 17488-2-2-1 (♂) 雜 交 而 育 成 之 秈 稻 新 品 種 ， 於 民 國 73 年 7 月 間 經 審 查 通 過 ， 准 予 推 廣 。 該 品 種 為 半 矮 性 ， 葉 片 挺 直 ， 抗 倒 伏 ， 耐 肥 。 中 等 粒 型 而 穀 粒 較 寬 ， 穀 粒 及 白 米 粒 之 千 粒 重 較 重 ， 各 達 33 公 克 及 25.6 公 克 ， 比 目 前 推 廣 品 種 台 中 在 來 1 號 、 台 中 秈 3 號 、 台 中 秈 10 號 及 其 他 品 種 為 重 。

　　在 民 國 72 年 全 省 秈 稻 區 域 試 驗 10 處 平 均 稻 穀 產 量 ， 第 一 期 作 可 達 7058 公 斤 / 公 頃 ， 第 二 期 作 達 6864 公 斤 / 公 頃 ， 比 台 中 秈 3 號 分 別 增 產 12.1% 及 48% ， 在 民 國 71 年 至 72 年 高 級 產 量 比 較 試 驗 ， 兩 年 平 均 稻 谷 產 量 ， 第 一 期 作 為 7711 公 斤 / 公 頃 ， 第 二 期 作 為 7587 公 斤 / 公 頃 ， 分 別 比 台 中 秈 10 號 增 產 6.8% 及 5.5% ， 由 於 本 品 種 之 粒 型 較 台 中 秈 3 號 及 台 中 秈 10 號 大 ， 顯 示 在 育 種 上 以 增 大 穀 粒 體 積 提 高 稻 作 產 量 確 實 可 行 。

　　台 中 秈 17 號 對 葉 稻 熱 病 、 穗 稻 熱 病 、 白 葉 枯 病 呈 中 抗 反 應 及 對 褐 飛 蝨 呈 抗 反 應 ， 顯 示 品 種 具 抗 多 種 主 要 病 蟲 害 為 增 加 產 量 之 主 要 因 素 。

　　台 中 秈 17 號 與 台 中 在 來 1 號 之 米 粒 擴 大 程 度 相 同 ， 同 屬 低 膠 化 溫 度 ， 顆 粒 澱 粉 含 量 高 ， 膠 化 粘 度 硬 ， 適 合 製 米 粉 、 蘿 蔔 糕 等 加 工 品 。

Summary

　　Taichung Sen 17 is a newly developed indica rice from the crossing of Taichung Sen Yu 223 (♀) x IR 17488-2-2-1 (♂) and officially registed and released in 1984. This new variety possess semi-dwarf, erect leaves, resistance to lodging and high responses to N-fertilizer. It is a medium grain size and biger width grain variety, with 33 gr of 1000-grain weight and 25.6 gr of 1000-total milled rice-weight. It is heavier than extension varieties such as Taichung No. 1, Taichung Sen 3, Taichung Sen 10 and other varieties.

　　The provincial district yield trails conducted at 10 locations in 1983, showed that Taichung Sen 17 yielded 7058 kg/ha in the first crop (12.1% higher than that of Taichung Sen 3) and 6864 kg/ha in the second crop (48% higher than that of Taichung Sen 3). The advanced yield trial of 1982 and 1983 showed an average yield of 7711 kg/ha in the first crop (6.8% higher than that of Taichung Sen 10) and 7587 kg/ha in the second crop (5.5% higher than that of Taichung Sen 10). It suggested that yield increase through enlarging grain size was possible.

　　This variety is moderately resistant to leaf and panicle blast and bacterial leaf blight. It is high resistant to brown planthopper. It suggested that yield stablely increase through resistant rice major diseases and insect.

　　The degree of expansion, low gelatinization, high amylose and hard gel consistency of Taichung Sen 17 are same as Taichung Native 1. Therefore, it is good for traditional food stuff.
