Extension Education Research
- The Council of Agriculture established the Farmers’ Academy in 2011, offering training courses that include introductory courses (horticulture, agriculture), basic classes (vegetable cultivation management), Intermediate classes (fruit trees, flowers, rice, specialty crops and grains, facility horticulture cultivation management, soil fertilizers and microbial materials, agricultural product processing and marketing, horticultural therapy counseling personnel training), and advanced classes (facility vegetable cultivation management). By 2023, a total of 139 courses have been conducted, with 4,122 participants trained.
- Using horticultural therapy, we have counseled 17 rural communities, green care stations and social welfare organizations, serving more than 3,300 people.
- The organization conducts professional training for agricultural technicians from friendly nations, commissioned by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs International Cooperation and Development Foundation. The participants in these specialized training courses are recommended and selected by our country's diplomatic missions or embassies abroad. Attendees come from friendly nations in Central and South America, Asia, Africa, and the Pacific region, representing relevant agricultural departments in their respective countries. Since 1996, a total of 24 classes with 457 participants have been organized for foreign agricultural technicians.
- Since 2003 to 2022, obtained 61 patents、82 plant variety rights. Completed 320 technology transfers contracts. Total accumulated licensing fees received amount to NT$80,473,000. The royalty fee is NT$8,954,990. The total revenue from research and development achievements is NT$89,427,990.
- Participate in exhibitions such as the Asia Biotechnology Exhibition, Taiwan Innovation Technology Expo, Asia-Pacific Agricultural Technology Exhibition, Taiwan Medical Technology Exhibition, and Southern Taiwan Biotechnology Exhibition. Organized workshops for protecting agricultural research and development achievements, and presentations of research and development achievements.
- The research and development achievements management and utilization are excellent, receiving the Excellent Agricultural Research and Development Achievement Management Unit Award in 2018 and 2022.
